Last Halloween, Nate grew a beard and had a straw hat to complete his transformation into the famous earless painter. This year, he employed a decidedly more minimalist take on the artist, with a paintbrush, paint-stained frock, and bandage.

In other news, I've been having a lot of fun lately with the crappy built-in flash on my camera (actually the flash on the 20D is probably better than that on most cameras, but compared to something like a speedlite, it is crappy), especially without the recommended tripod. Basically, the flash fires, but the shutter stays open in order to expose the background correctly. This gives rise to the fun blurry background on some of the shots I've posted.
