Indiana Farm

I took this picture while on the highway (I wasn't driving) on my way to Purdue with Mike. It was taken a couple months ago, but I just decided today to post it. I'll just take it back down if I cease to like it anymore. But I think it really shows how boring the midwest is. =)

Boring? Yes, to shallow Hollyweird-mindset types who are highly impressed with designer jeans, Brittany Spears and superficial Mall hype.
I love the picture......a representation of true Americana....... a quiet, peaceful, honest scene with a plain, unappreciated beauty...... a scene that is too rapidly disappearing to be replaced with endless strip malls, gas stations and hamburger joints.

One might also say it is an isolated scene; it depicts a place that harbors religiously-manipulated bigotry which, precisely because it exists so far removed from the rest of society, can afford to survive without ideological change, and complacently remains stick-in-the-mud.

There are pros and cons that can be found in either existence, but harsh judgements don't really do anyone any good.
